Today I have the great pleasure of being the host on Day 17 of the Virtual Blog Tour of author Lynn Serafinn whose book The 7 Graces of Marketing: how to heal humanity and the planet by changing the way we sell launched on Amazon yesterday Tuesday December 13, 2011.

Lynn Serafinn, MAED, CPCC is a certified, award-winning coach and teacher, marketer, social media expert, radio host, speaker and bestselling author. Her eclectic approach to marketing incorporates her vast professional experience in the music industry and the educational sector along with more than two decades of study and practice of the spirituality of India. In her work as a promotional manager she has produced a long list of bestselling mind-body-spirit authors. Passionate about re-establishing our connection with the Earth, she supports the work of the Transition Town network in her hometown of Bedford, England.

Yesterday, Lynn visited Suzie Cheel at http://suziecheel.com/the-7-graces-of-marketing-interview-with-lynn-serafin/, where she shared her recent video interview with Lynn about The 7 Graces of Marketing.

Today, I’d like to share with you a recent interview I had with Lynn when I got to ask her some questions on the subject of our relationships with source, 3 furies and vision in marketing. I hope you enjoy it.

——-

Glenn M Smith: In your book, you talk about the 7 Key Relationships. The first one is “The Relationship with Self”. What process did you follow to develop a relationship with yourself?

Lynn Serafinn: Well, Glenn, I don’t think I had a planned process in mind at all when I started the journey back to Self. Over the decades, I went through many breakdowns and burnouts, and never really understood that the reason for them was that I was not connected with my true Self. It wasn’t until I was 52 (five years ago) that I had a major realisation (and a major burnout), where I was able to see clearly that all my troubles in life were due to this lack of connection, which was leading me to run my life according to other people’s standards and value systems instead of my own. At that time, I read the book Finding Your Own North Star by Martha Beck, which really got me thinking about how much I was really in tune with what I really felt and believed.

Since then, my relationship with Self has gone from strength to strength. My life is rich, exciting and rewarding, and I am learning more and more about Self, others and the Universe every single day. What I’ve found is that we go through different stages during our reconnection. First is awareness, then comes healing, and then comes expansion and unity. My “breakdown” was the awareness stage. Some of the “processes” I suppose I used during the healing stage were writing, coaching and reconnecting with Nature. In fact, I call my first book The Garden of the Soul, which came out in 2009, was my “catharsis” book. These days, I’m no longer going through the healing process. The process of writing my new book The 7 Graces of Marketing was what I would call my “expansion stage”, where I began to see how Self fit into the greater picture of things, and how I could bring value into the world. Now, I believe, I am entering the “unity” stage (a word used by M. Scott Peck in his book The Different Drum), wherein I no longer feel the need to push against anything that happens, but rather I see the opportunity in every single thing that crosses my path—even things that at first seem to be misfortunes. My life and outlook are completely different from what they were 10 years ago.

Glenn M Smith: How did your relationship with <a href="http://sensitiveselfhelp.com"target="_self"rel="external"title="The Real Self Help Resource" >Self help with your business?

Lynn Serafinn: It helped (and is still helping) tremendously. I don’t even think I can count all the ways. My business has grown in leaps and bounds. My reputation has expanded beyond my expectations to such a degree I receive more requests for consultations than I can even keep up with. So, of course this has helped my business financially.

But here’s an important thing I want to point out: the better my relationship with Self has become, the better my relationship with my business and with money has become. The impact of this on my finances is that I feel less of a need to spend on things I used to spend on years ago, when I was “seeking” some sort of comfort through external things. Our need to find ourselves through external things does not always refer to material possessions; it can also include personal development courses, degrees, etc. I’m not saying there is no need for personal development courses or education; but sometimes we can turn into personal development “junkies”, thinking another course will finally “fix” whatever it is from which we are suffering. We take course after course because we inwardly believe we are “not enough”. But when we have a good relationship with Self, and know the true splendour of who we are, our spending becomes more choice-driven and less impulsive, and this has a positive impact upon our economic situation. We become calmer and more serene about money, and learn how to utilise money as a wonderful creative tool, rather than seeing it as a continual “problem” or challenge in life.

Glenn M Smith: How can one overcome the hurt from the deceptive marketing practices out there, so we can learn to enjoy marketing?

Lynn Serafinn: Well, Glenn, that all depends whether you are asking this from the perspective of a business owner or as a consumer (which we all are).

“Deception” is one of what I call the “7 Deadly Sins” of marketing in my book, and you rightly point that it is hurtful. The hurt that Deception causes is multi-faceted, and appears in many different forms. I give many examples in the book of how marketers use deceptive language that is technically and legally “true”, but that actually creates an unconscious thought in our minds that is often untrue. An example is when marketers use “false negatives” in their marketing. For example, they might say, “Nothing works faster.” Well that doesn’t mean it’s the fastest working, nor does it mean that it works at all. But the brain takes in the meaning “this is the fastest”. Of course, there are many examples in the book I give on much more blatant kinds of Deception, including the use of what is known as “Greenwash” where companies try to portray themselves as being environmentally committed so as to gain public favour, but they are anything but. I also talk about “Deception via Association” whereby companies use public figures (or children’s cartoon characters) to make a false association between the product and some quality of the public figure.

Now the hurt that comes from such Deception is multifarious. In the case of deceptive wording, we might buy products that don’t actually live up to what we had hoped they would. This impacts our finances, because we’ve wasted our money. We start to become mistrustful and cynical in general, which certainly isn’t good for society. If we lose trust and confidence in the world of commerce, it threatens the very fabric of society. In the case of companies that use greenwash strategies, we falsely assume we are helping the planet by supporting them, which means we are ignoring the real issues that need attention. This can have a devastating impact upon our natural environment, because we become complacent, thinking things are being addressed.

Now to your question: How do we overcome this hurt? It can only be done through the antidote, which is what I call “The Grace of Transparency.”

If you are a business owner, I would hope you read the chapters on “The Deadly Sin of Deception” and “The Grace of Transparency” in The 7 Graces of Marketing to see what kinds of things might be considered “deceptive marketing” in general. Then, take some time to do a reflective, personal examination on how you are conducting your own business and marketing. When you have identified their weak areas, create some new ways of marketing that foster Transparency. Then, watch the changes that happen! Over time, as you rebuild trust with your audience, the relationship between you and your customers will transform completely.

If you are a consumer, I also suggest you read these same chapters, and see which kinds of marketing strategies have caused you to lose trust in certain businesses. Then, don’t be SHY about pointing this out to business owners—but with love and compassion. Remember, if businesses are being deceptive, it’s not necessarily because their “evil” or malicious. Usually, it’s because they are disconnected from Self and Source, and are thusly afraid. They might not admit it, but it’s true. And this goes for even the biggest multi-national company on the planet. You, as a consumer, are tremendously powerful. Start feeding back to these companies with love and compassion, and watch the face of marketing begin to transform.

Thanks so much for asking these questions, Glenn. They were deep and meaningful, and I hope your readers can glean from this short interview just how important the topics I cover in The 7 Graces of Marketing are. I also hope they see this book is not just for business owners, but for every one of us, as consumers. I’m grateful for the opportunity to share.

Today, November 1, I have the great pleasure of being the host on Day 1 of the Virtual Blog Tour of author Carolyn A. Brent whose book Why Wait? The Baby Boomers’ Guide to Preparing Emotionally, Financially and Legally for a Parent’s Death launches on Amazon on Tuesday November 15, 2011.

Author Carolyn A. Brent, M.B.A. is a former clinical educational manager in the pharmaceutical industry. She is an avid activist and advocate working with the U.S. Congress for the purpose of creating change to protect seniors and veterans from financial and medical abuse. She has appeared on many local and national TV and radio shows, and is a sought-after keynote speaker.

Today, I’d like to share with you a recent interview I had with Carolyn when I got to ask her some questions on her work and other subjects. I hope you enjoy it.

——-

Glenn M Smith: Can you tell us a bit about your work with members of congress to help change legislation to help protect long-term family caregivers?

Carolyn A. Brent: I’ve been lobbying the United States Congress to pass new laws that will protect longstanding family caregivers from the malice of their siblings. My goal is to close the gap I identified between the state and federal authorities, by making it harder for long-time caregivers to be displaced by siblings who have not been involved in the care of their elderly parents. Just as recently as October 13, 2011, I met with two State Government Officials regarding this same problem. My goal with the state is to be appointed as a chair member of the Commission of Aging. I will continue to knock on doors at State, Congress and The White House until new laws are passed.

Glenn M Smith: In your book, you talk about crucial emotional conversations parents, siblings and other family members must have. Can you tell us a bit about what you mean by that?

Carolyn A. Brent: For the elderly, now is the time for conversations about end-of-life issues to take place with their children, not later. And if your parents don’t bring the subject up, as a concerned child you should. Why wait to begin talking? Why wait until there is a crisis? It is much better to hold these crucial conversations early when your parents are still healthy and can articulate their wishes, needs, and concerns. When a family has a plan, it is much easier to work together as a team.

In my case, my sibling flat out refused to have any conversation regarding our dad. As a direct result we had a very bad outcome to no one’s benefit. If I would have known about a sibling contract; I would have had a third party to intervene on my behalf to have this type of discussion, at the same time protecting me the longstanding caregiver.

Glenn M Smith: How can you care of yourself when you are a caregiver?

Carolyn A. Brent: To be an effective caregiver, you must take care of yourself as well. Now on the other end of caregiving, I find that exercise and meditation help me to relax as I never did either beforehand. I wish I would have known to nurture myself better while I was on the journey with my father.

Don’t be afraid to ask for Respite Care for the person you are caring for…YOU NEED A BREAK! It’s a fact that caregiving is an extremely demanding and difficult job that no one is equipped to do alone. Reaching out and getting the help you need to preserve your mental health and physical well-being is therefore crucial for both you and the parent you are caring for, especially if you live together.

———-

I hope you enjoyed this interview with Carolyn A. Brent and that you’ll check out her book Why Wait? The Baby Boomers’ Guide to Preparing Emotionally, Financially and Legally for a Parent’s Death at http://www.babyboomersguide.org/book-launch/pre-launch.html

Spiritual Psychotherapy

Having been involved in Spiritual Psychotherapy for many lifetimes I thought it would be prudent to give you a few tips on what to look for when seeking it.

Psychotherapy is generally an unregulated profession so for the most part it is buyer beware. This being the case it is a good idea to know what you are looking for before you find it.

When seeking Spiritual Psychotherapy factor in the following:

Most therapists have many unresolved issues that got them motivated to become therapists in the first place. When you fist meet the therapist monitor how you feel when with them. If they seem very calm centered then it is sign that they are very grounded and balanced.

The amount of degrees and educational background someone has does not always indicate aptitude. Often if the mind is relied on too much it takes away from the heart/feeling aspect of therapy where your spirit thrives.

Spiritual Psychotherapy uses the healing power of spirit to help you. When you are dealing with an issues your higher self, spirit and collective unconscious can most often grant you an insight that you cannot get from the physical realm alone.

Your therapist must be a very spiritual person to perform this kind of therapy. When I say spiritual, I do not mean religious or refer to any dogmatic belief system that keeps the mind in a rigid pattern of thought. By spiritual I mean someone who is open and flexible to all things.

The most effective spiritual psychotherapy will be performed by a spiritual master. These refined individuals normally have a highly tuned energy about them. When you are near these people you start to feel good because of the positive energy they radiate outward.

So I hope these tips help you out. Now, I will you a bit about me and how I can help you.

I am an Ascended Master, not by my own claim but by a Inca Shaman. I have performed over 30,000 healing sessions in this life time and can do it without even being with the person I am using spiritual psychotherapy on. I perform this work on anyone, anywhere in the world by donation.

Kimberly Coots: Unworthiness can show up consciously as not feeling good enough or worthy, but for many people, it shows up disguised as something else. I have a chapter in the book Divine Worth called “The Masks of Unworthiness”. The ego is very good at covering up feelings of unworthiness and distracting you from seeing it, mainly because the ego strives to steer us toward pleasure and away from pain.

Some of those masks include: procrastination, busy-ness, perfectionism, co-dependency and people pleasing, finding it difficult to receive, being superior than others, being the victim, and being critical of others (among many others).

Addiction is another common mask of unworthiness. In my past experiences, I used addiction to escape the pressure of trying to live up to the expectations I thought I was supposed to live up to, even though accomplishing those expectations wasn’t making me happy (and I was denying my true desires). It takes a lot of energy to deny what your heart really wants in an effort to live up to the expectations of others.

So much potential is wasted on the fear of not being worthy enough to 1). Accomplish the desire and/or 2). Receive abundance for accomplishing said desire. If you are keeping yourself small, denying what makes you truly happy or distracting yourself through drama or addiction, you may have some underlying worthiness issues going on.

Glenn M Smith: Can you explain the importance of Forgiveness?

Kimberly Coots: When you hold a grievance toward yourself, you limit your connection with your heart space– your true power. If you’re not centered in your heart space, you are probably not engaged with your passions and sharing your gifts, which create true joy and fulfilment.

Grievances resonate with blame, shame and/or guilt, and these energies foster beliefs of unworthiness, such as, “I’m not worthy of being happy or receiving what I desire because I am bad”. You may sabotage your own happiness because you don’t believe you deserve to be happy.

Unforgiveness of oneself masks the truth of what you really are – the divine energy/essence of Creator. Forgiveness is releasing the grievances that keep your energy stuck so that you can live a life that you love and deserve, and give yourself permission to claim the love and essence that you really are.

Glenn M Smith: What is the connection between Self-worth and Abundance?

Kimberly Coots: One of my mentors says “your self-worth is your net worth”. If you have beliefs that you are not good enough or worthy (whether conscious or unconscious), this resonates from a “lack” consciousness.

Feelings of unworthiness also tend to create self-sabotage around abundance too. If you aren’t able to open up and receive (because you don’t feel you are worthy of receiving), you block the flow of abundance coming to you and through you.

Our culture tends to measure one’s worth based on the amount of material abundance one has collected. However, “getting and having” as much material abundance as possible is not our divine purpose in life, nor does how much you have or not have dictate your worth. Abundance is the energy that sustains life and we are all connected to it. Abundance flows to us and through us so that we can share our gifts (give), and receive the energy or abundance to continue giving (receive), which creates joy and fulfillment (sharing) – this is the flow of abundance formula.

Your worth does not have to be proved or gained; it is already within you and is unconditional… your worth is divine.

Today I have the great pleasure of being the host on Day 1 of the Virtual Blog Tour for Mike O’Mary, Creator of The Note Project. The Note Project is a free, global movement aiming to make the world a million times better by inspiring 1 million people to write a note of appreciation to someone who made a difference in their lives.

Today, I’d like to share with you a recent interview I had with Mike when I got to ask him some questions on personal/professional background, benefits of sharing appreciation, barriers and appreciation as a change agent. I hope you enjoy it.

——-

Glenn M.Smith: Here is some background on Mike’s Personal and Professional life?

Mike O’Mary; Mike O’Mary is founder of the Note Project, and author of The Note, a book about the power of appreciation. Mike also has more than 20 years of experience helping Fortune 500 companies with executive communications. “Even CEOs sometimes have difficulty putting words on paper,” says Mike. “If I can help them find the words, I can help you, too.”

Mike’s is also author of Wise Men and Other Stories, a collection of holiday-related essays, and he is editor of Saying Goodbye, an anthology of true stories about saying goodbye to the people and places in our lives. In addition, Mike is owner of Dream of Things, a book publishing company.

In his career as a writer, Mike’s essays have been published in the Sunday magazines of the Chicago Tribune, Denver Post, Baltimore Sun, Cleveland Plain Dealer and Detroit Free Press. Mike has also written and produced sketch comedy in Chicago, and he was a commentator on WNIJ – Northern Illinois Public Radio, doing weekly commentaries as part of the local segment of National Public Radio’s “Morning Edition” program.

Mike is a graduate of Knox College (BA in Economics and English-Writing), the University of Montana (MFA in Creative Writing, MA in English Literature), and the Second City Comedy Writing Program.

Mike has a daughter, Kathleen, an artist in Chicago, Illinois. Mike is engaged to be married to Kathy Hayevsky, a Montessori teacher, in June 2011. Mike and Kathy live in a 140-year-old house in Downers Grove, Illinois, along with several very noisy little birds.

Glenn M.Smith: Please explain the benefits of sharing appreciation (for others, and for you).

Mike O’Mary; There are LOTS of benefits. I consider a note of appreciation to be an act of kindness, and research has shown that an act of kindness has a positive effect on the recipient, the person performing the act, and all who witness it. And when I say “positive effect,” I mean it actually stimulates the production of serotonin in the brain, and improves the functioning of the immune system. So it really does have a ripple effect that makes everybody feel good – emotionally and physically.

Another great thing about sharing appreciation is that everybody is empowered to do it. Sometimes we look at the things going on in the world around us and feel powerless to make a difference. But each of us does have the power to make a difference, and it can start with something as simple as sending a note of appreciation. A simple note of appreciation can make a person’s day, and maybe even change a person’s life.

Glenn M.Smith: What might be some barriers to sharing appreciation and to appreciation as a way of life?

Mike O’Mary; I conduct workshops on appreciation and I always ask, “What keeps you from writing more notes of appreciation?” The number one answer is “I don’t have time.” That’s followed closely by “I don’t know where to begin,” or “I don’t know what to say.” People also say, “They already know how I feel,” and even that writing notes is “old-fashioned.”

Those are the easy objections to overcome. After a brief discussion, people usually agree that it really doesn’t take much time to write a note, and that there is a big return on the investment of time. As for what to say, I advise people to keep it simple. Just tell the person what you like and admire about them, or share a memory of something that you did together, and then let them know you appreciate them.

To people who say, “They already know how I feel,” I say that’s great. But what if they don’t? The only way to be sure they know how you feel is to tell them. And even if they do already know, they will still enjoy getting a note from you telling them they are appreciated.

Some people also have emotional barriers to sharing appreciation. Maybe they came from a family or environment where people didn’t share appreciation or other feelings. Or maybe they’ve just gotten out of the habit. Either way, the solution is the same. Just do it. The more you do it, the easier it gets. You’ll make the people around you feel good, and you will feel great for having released those positive emotions out into the world where they can multiply and ripple outwards.

Glenn M.Smith: In your book you view appreciation as a change agent in your life, and in the lives of others. Explain please!

Mike O’Mary; I will speak from my own personal experience. Several years ago, I received a note from my youngest sister, thanking me for something I had done years ago, after we had been separated as children. That note healed years of self-doubt for me, so I know first-hand the healing and cathartic power of a simple note of appreciation.

The note from my sister was also a wake-up call for me. It prompted me to see that I was not a very appreciative person. So I began to focus on what I appreciate about the people around me – and when you start looking at the world that way, it changes everything. Your ability to appreciate the good in other people will also tend to bring out the best in people, and over time, you will find yourself surrounded by positive people – because you’re seeing more clearly and because you are attracting them to you. And I’m not talking about platitudes here. I’m talking about people who are doing good and meaningful things with their lives, and helping others do the same. Those are the kind of people you want to be around.

Today I have the great pleasure of being the host on Day 2 of the Virtual Blog Tour of author Tina M Games whose book Journaling by the Moonlight: A Mother’s Path to Self-Discovery (and its accompanying deck of 54 journaling prompt cards) is celebrating its 1st birthday on Amazon on Tuesday May 3, 2011.

Author Tina M Games is certified creativity and life purpose coach. She calls herself the “Moonlight Muse” for women who want to tap into the “full moon within” and claim their authentic self, both personally and professionally. Through her signature coaching programs, based on the phases of the moon, Tina gently guides women from darkness to light as they create an authentic vision filled with purpose, passion and creative expression.

Yesterday, Tina visited Kate Griffiths at http://mumsdaword.blogspot.com , where they talked about started to journal, advice on journaling discipline and from working to being a coach then writer.

Today, I’d like to share with you a recent interview I had with Tina when I got to ask her some questions on her love and understanding of the moon, intuition, revealing your inner truth and support systems. I hope you enjoy it.

——-

Tina M Games: Thank you, Glenn, for your interest in my book, Journaling by the Moonlight: A Mother’s Path to Self-Discovery and its accompanying deck of 54 journaling prompt cards.

I believe that mothers are a significant part of the “ripple effect” – that will transform the world into a more loving, more nurturing place. Imagine for a moment a “pebble thrown into a pond.” It creates a ripple that goes on and on and on.

When a mother is living life with complete authenticity, she’s subconsciously giving permission for her kids to do the same. She’s truly at her best – creating powerful change for her family, her community, and for the world at large. It’s all part of “the ripple.

Glenn M Smith: A pleasure to have you Tina. Tell us about Your love and understanding of the moon.

Tina M Games: My work with the moon phases came out of my own experience of connecting with the moon during a really dark period in my life. Shortly after the birth of my first child and after making some fairly significant life changes at the same time; I fell into depression. A place that felt so foreign to me and a place where I felt like I had fallen into a black hole with no way out. It was during this time, a period that spanned over two years that I had disconnected from everything that made me happy. Because my son suffered from chronic illnesses related to serious colds and severe ear infections, I made a very difficult choice to give up a successful career in order to care for my son full-time. I hadn’t realized until this experience how much of my identity was tied into my career. Without it, I felt very lost and very unhappy.

It was during this time that I fell back on a great passion of mine – journal writing. And as a mom of a baby who did not have a normal sleep schedule, I found myself exhausted and emotional much of the time. So night after night, after I’d get my son settled and after my husband went to bed, I’d grab my journal and retreat to my favorite chair – beside a big bay window where I caught a glimpse of the moon. It was the moon that taught me the meaning of transition. I’d watch this beautiful lunar goddess, night after night, move in and out of her various phases. And before long, I began to connect her phases with my own emotional tides.

I noticed that the moon always began in darkness and gradually, she’d move into full light – and cycle back around again. And I noticed the contrast between dark and light – the darkness of the night sky against the beautiful full moon light. I started connecting to this – as if I was being divinely guided through my own transitions of dark and light. I began to notice the ebbs and flows of my emotions. There were good days and bad days.

So when I came to the point of writing my book, I wanted mothers to realize that every human transition begins in darkness and gradually moves into light, where we get a glimpse of what is possible. And then we retreat, to ponder the many ways we can manifest these possibilities into reality. This requires deep work, where we step into our own truth and into our own power – and where we can emerge in the most authentic way possible. This is what I call the Blue Moon phase – when we finally realize that we are here on this Earth to be WHO we are, to put our personal thumbprint on the world in the most truthful, most authentic, most unique way possible. Each one of us are individuals being divinely guided on our own purposeful path.

Glenn M Smith: Can you speak on Intuition, its importance, benefits and impact?

Tina M Games: Intuition is our “divine channel of wisdom.” It always knows best. And when we listen to it, we can’t go wrong. It feeds a person’s soul with the right messages for him or her. It can guide one on the right path and in making the right decisions in the moment. And it can feed a mother (or a father) with the right messages for her (or his) children. And when we can be fully open to it, it always gives us the answers we need. When we doubt it, even in the smallest of ways, we can be thrown off track – sometimes in a very painful way.

In my case, I knew what was best for my son – and at the same time, I knew what was best for me. And I knew in a very pivotal moment of my life, that the two were not the same. But I didn’t fully listen to my intuition. I only listened to part of it. I let guilt take over.

Looking back at that very pivotal moment in my life, my intuition was screaming, “You can give your child what he needs and you can give yourself what you need. There are ways it can be done.” But guilt consumed me, and I gave in to what my son needed – and in a sense, I was telling myself, “You don’t matter.”

While my son’s needs were met, mine were not. And this resulted in depression.

My intuition said, “A happy mother makes the best mother.” But I allowed the voice of guilt to speak louder – and I paid the price.

When we’re in the midst of a decision of any kind, especially one that has the potential to change our lives in a big way, journal writing can help. We can ask ourselves the deep, thought-provoking questions and we can listen for the answers, allowing them to feed through us. We are all divinely guided – and when we are willing to ask the questions and when we are open to receiving the answers, we can travel a more purposeful, more authentic path.

Glenn M Smith: How does journal writing reveal our inner truth?

Tina M Games: Journal writing is an invitation to jump into the depth of your heart and soul. It’s a place where truth can be spoken without fear of judgment and without worry of being censored. It creates a very private, very sacred place where one can have an honest conversation with his or her subconscious (that deep inner knowing that we all have). It also provides the space where one can dialogue with his or her higher power, asking open-ended questions and waiting for thoughtful answers.

Neale Donald Walsh provides an excellent example of what can happen when one opens up to their higher source and makes a request for answers. In his book, Conversations with God, he engages in a dialogue with his divine power and asks, “Why is this happening to me?” And then he waits for the answers – and they eventually come. They pour through him and onto the pages of his journal. And it’s through his journal writing process that he becomes enlightened and finds a way to get his life back on track.

But it all begins with truth. Before we begin our search for answers, we must first be willing to tell the truth. We must be willing to speak from a place of honesty, which many times come from a place of pain.

Glenn M Smith: How important are support systems and how do we find them?

Tina M Games: Humans are tribal people. We need people – and we especially need people who understand us, who won’t judge us in a moment of truth. This is why support systems are so important.

Each and every one of us has the capacity to love others. And when we can do that without judgment, we are opening up channels that allow for a rich giving and receiving of love and support.

One of the most important things for a mother is having a strong support system. This can include a supportive husband, an extended family, babysitters, support groups, neighbors and friends. Mothers need people in their lives that they can trust, whether it’s a confidante or someone who can help out with the children in a moment’s notice. It also minimizes isolation, which can often lead to depression.

In my case, I had a very limited support system during a very difficult time in my life. I often wonder how things would have changed for me had I been able to tap into a stronger network of support. Just having an afternoon to myself to sort out how I was feeling, without the interruption of a crying baby, would have done wonders for my self-esteem.

True support systems are built one person at a time, beginning with someone we trust. It’s important that we honor the truth of our situation and allow another to support us in a way that truly helps us. This is what I call “connecting with your tribe.” No one understands a feeling or a situation any more than someone who has been through it – or who may still be going through it. These are the people who will know how to support you. These are the people who won’t judge you in your moment of pain. These are the members of your tribe – those who connect with you from a heart-centered place.

———-

Today I have the great pleasure of being the host on 14th day of the Virtual Blog Tour of Hay House author Dr Roy Martina, whose book Emotional Balance: the path to inner peace and harmony comes to Amazon on Tuesday March 15, 2011.

Roy Martina is a holistic medical doctor with over 30 years experience helping people tap into their true selves and “cure the incurable” by understanding the connection between emotional balance and dis-ease. He is the author of over 40 books in Dutch and other languages. He has spent the last 25 years studying acupuncture and numerous holistic techniques in order to offer people a profound level of healing, and he has been tireless in his pursuit of methods that work swiftly and effectively to aid the healing process. This work has put him at the leading edge of the holistic and self-help world.

Yesterday, Roy visited Geoff Laughton at http://geofflaughton.com/gltc/2011/02/a-virtual-interview-with-dr-roy-martina where they talked about true happiness, good/bad focusing on energy and defining emotional imbalances.

Today, I’d like to share with you a recent interview I had with Roy when I got to ask him some questions on Stillpoint, three levels of consciousness and path to mastery. I hope you enjoy it.

——-

Glenn M Smith: What makes the “Still Point” you describe the key to true happiness?

Roy Martina: When we speak of free will or free choice the presupposition is that we have free choice as a natural part of our system. That is far from the truth we are conditioned and function according to predetermined patterns that limit our expression of our Authentic Essence. We are happy in nature; we are the expression of Love in or true Essence. But because of our unresolved issues and our upbringing we no longer react in a natural way but in a conditioned way. Think about the Pavlov dogs that react to a bell, they have no choice. In my book Emotional Balance I give my readers some tools that allow them to heal or change the original incidents that conditioned them to react in the emotional way that they react to situations. When we step out of the turmoil of life we feel safe, peaceful and feel love in ourselves without an exterior reason. That is the still point, the state where we are in our power and have free will.

Glenn M Smith: Could you please explain your perception of the three levels of consciousness?

Roy Martina: Consciousness is a process of evolution and happens multidimensional which means we can evolve for example faster in relationship and slower in financial matters. So we can have great relationship and still suffer from poverty consciousness.

1. Level 1 of consciousness is where we are focused on achieving our goals with lots of energy and motivation, we function on willpower, desire and are driven by our dreams and we lose often the connection with others and with our bodies. We make great sacrifices to achieve our goals. You see this for example in athletes that will destroy their bodies to perform at supernatural levels without enough rest and regeneration. They always pay a price later in life. There are almost no exceptions. Willpower and intensity and discipline are the driving force.

2. Level 2: Now we become more intuitive, we start to balance our energies better. We understand that some things take time. We start to work better as teams and are not too proud to ask for help and start to make choices that we cannot explain naturally. Intuition and sensitivity play a big role here.

3. Level 3. Total surrendering to the flow of the Universe, we are not driven by our desires but by our higher understanding of how the Universe works. The self (ego) becomes the servant and is no longer the master of our minds. We make choices based on a higher ecological win win level. We are connected to our higher level of consciousness and open ourselves to guidance that is at a more subtle level and are more in synch with synchronicity. The power of intention plays the best movement of energy and we surrender to the Divine Intelligence and Master plan.

Glenn M Smith: Please describe the path to Mastery?

Roy Martina: Life is a game of immortal beings, it is when we enter the dream state in the other side and create a game where we have to learn how to not get distracted by the co-creations of others. The game is to understand who you are not and to find ways to stay in your connection with yourself. A Master in someone who reaches a high level of staying connected to their Divine Self. They no longer allow others to take them away from this power. Even disease or challenges do not bother them because they understand it is a game and that all challenges are blessings in disguise. The goal is to stay connected with your power. Power in this context is to be the 100% expression of yourself, the pure authentic love that you are made of.

———-

Humic Acid and Fulvic Acid
Healing or Just Hype

You have no doubt heard about Humic Acid and Fulvic Acid as a healing property for conditions such as arthritis, skin conditions, body pain, anti-aging and many more. It is hard to know when something is touted as the best things ever or if those claims are truthful, or just a lot of hype.

In this article I am going to attempt help you to help you make an informed decision about purchasing a product containing Humic Acid and Fulvic Acid so you can feel confident in your choice. I worked for 18 years as a Massage Therapist treating many different health conditions so I have a pretty good understanding of what will benefit you.

Click Here to Learn More About Humic Acid and Fulvic Acid Products

It has been reported that the effects of using Fulvic Acid and Humic Acid are a decrease in appetite, reports of a better quality of sleep, and a decrease in pain from arthritis or physical injuries. This seems to be achieved by these substances acting as a anti-aging and rejuvenation formula, replacing the decreasing of in body substances as we age.

You can read some user stories by clicking Here and going to the amazing stories tab.

So that sounds pretty sound but where can you get Humic Acid and Fulvic Acid? Well in a bog of course.

I am kind of proud to be Canadian because the mud from a bog, fairly close to where I live, contains high levels of humic acid. This bog is called Casselman and the company that is using the mud to create high quality products for the health and spa industries is Golden Moor. Although there are bogs in Europe producing products, this bog in Canada is unpolluted and controlled so the quality of products produced is superior.

Golden Moor started in 1987 and has been growing in product development and customer satisfaction ever since. Their products are shipped around the world and they have captured 80% of the spa market in Canada. I do not have a problem with the reputability of the company behind these Humic Acid and Fulvic Acid products.

I have always leaned towards using natural methods to treat health conditions that arise from being human. As we age there are many more ailments to consider finding a cure for. Our bodies have a fantastic ability to heal when the right building blocks are in place for the healing process to occur. The trick is finding high quality substances that will rebuild the blocks.

I like this Golden Moor product but you are the ultimate judge and you will not know what it can do for you until you try it. Click through one of the banners to check out the products offered. The science behind it is sound and you have to try using it to know if it works for you.

Humic Acid and Fulvic Acid promise relief from suffering. Are you ready to make a change?

What Makes a True Champion?

Lessons we can learn from a horse named Zenyatta

by guest author Allison Maslan

Allow me to talk with you about a very grand race horse named Zenyatta.

Have you heard of her? Zenyatta is an undefeated American Thoroughbred racehorse that has defied the odds to win her last 18 races straight. She will most likely go down in history as one of the greatest and most loved race horses of all time.

What do you think makes Zenyatta a champion? What makes everyone who has the honor to watch Zenyatta in action cheer her to the finish line as they wipe tears of joy from their eyes?

Is it her speed? Is it her elegant poise? Is it the way she intentionally works the crowd with her signature prance and playful strut after every victory?

Yes. She is all of these things. And more…

The black beauty, Zenyatta, miraculously glides by the other horses as if she has magical wings. She knows just the right time to work her strategy, move out of the pack, and soar to the finish line. And she does it with grace and style.

But what really makes Zenyatta a true champion is that she wants to do nothing less than win. Zenyatta knows she is a champion. She knows she has the win inside of her, and she never settles for less.

Why am I talking to you about this extraordinary horse?

Zenyatta is the perfect example of what it takes to be victorious and live your true purpose in your life and work. She reaches for the pinnacle every time her hoofs hit the track.

As life and business strategist, my greatest passion has been coaching thousands to success in all levels of life. I have developed a proven formula that creates winners and takes these winners to The Pinnacle—the very highest point on your life and business journey.

Today I have the great pleasure of being the host on Day 11 of the Virtual Blog Tour for Memory in the Cells by author Luis Angel Diaz.

Newly translated from the popular Spanish edition, author Luis Diaz describes his book Memory in the Cells as “where Eckhart Tolle meets What the Bleep Do We Know, but taking you on a much more practical journey.” He says Memory in the Cells teaches “emotional education” and shows the reader how to transform the “pain body” into the “joy body”, helping to heal all aspects of their lives.

Yesterday, Luis visited Geoff Laughton at www.spiritedmusings.com. For today’s stop on the tour, I decided to ask Luis some questions about the link between the body, beliefs and emotions.

*   *   *   *   *

Glenn: Why is the body the key to overcoming the ego?

Luis: In my experience, we don´t need to overcome anything. We just need to integrate what we already are and embrace everything we are, just as we are.

The ego is not a problem as long as we are conscious of it as a creation of the mind to feel safe and protected. The ego is a problem when we let it run the show. Since it is our mind’s creation, it’s the result of our perception, and our perception is the result of the programming we have. As civilized human beings, this programming supports and generates inner fragmentation in us.

We are not just rational beings as we’ve been told. We are multidimensional beings. That means we are and live in different dimensions at the same time.

We are physical in that we need and have physical bodies in order to have a human experience. But we are also mental in that our minds are continually creating thoughts and opinions. Therefore, we generate endless streams of beliefs about ourselves and others. And lastly, we are also emotional beings, as we generate feelings and emotional reactions as a result of the thoughts and beliefs we have.

We cannot say we are complete as long as we are unable to live consciously from those three dimensions, by consciously integrating and including these dimensions within us.

Glenn: If we have so many beliefs keeping us from realizing who we truly are, what is the most effective way of dealing with them?
Luis: The best way I found to deal with these beliefs, is to bring consciousness to our body. Leaving the body empty from our presence allows the mind to run wild and generate endless opinions and ideas. The more we inhabit our bodies, the fewer thoughts we generate.

Glenn: Is it necessary to go through a major trauma in life to “wake up” spiritually?

Luis: Fortunately, there are no rules on this matter. I’ve seen that deep shock usually leads to loss. And loss creates an empty space in the fabric of life that gives us the chance to “see through the hole” and wake up to the next level.

But, I’ve also heard about the same process happening to people without any shock or trauma. So, it’s a wonderful mystery!

Glenn: Do we need to be supported by people around us to raise our consciousness?

Luis: Community, sharing, support and mutuality are needs we all have as human beings. I strongly advise you to create or find your own. We need to be organized in this matter. Unconsciousness is a “very well organized corporation” as we all can see!

*   *   *   *   *
