Are we not all looking for a connection in everything that we do?

If we look at all the things that people attempt to find outside of themselves, things that they feel will fulfill them, then we can identify the need for connection. Whether it be physical, mental or emotional needs that people pursue they all point to a need for connection.

Why is it that we all look outside of ourselves for what is found within? People constantly seek objects, food, alcohol, drugs, people, places or many other things to satisfy the need they have burning from within.

When we are born we require three basic needs. We need to feel loved, we need to feel secure and we need to feel that we matter.

It is safe to assume that most of us were raised without those needs being fully instilled in our lives.

Think back to what your family life was like when you were young and you will have a good idea of what need was missing in your life. Now look at the things you long to find outside of yourself and see if they relate to that missing need or needs.

The connection we desire is with ourselves for we can give ourselves those needs that were not met. In giving these needs to yourself, you will find that there is no need to search outside any longer.

Embrace this connection with yourself and feel how powerful you can be.
